This ultralight one weight fly rod is PURE FUN to cast. This is a really quality rod for fishing in small river and lakes. I have one of these myself and I use it without a reel attached. Its like casting the weight of a fly! I am planning to make more of these rods without a reel seat but with a separate line winder. But for this rod I have turned a walnut reel seat with two sliding rings. The seat is dipped five times in Epifanes varnish and dried to get that high gloss look.
