If I were to recommend a new fly rod brand to anyone it would be Mystic River. They have a really great line of rods. One of my favourites is "The Reaper". Mystic River have designed their own Reaper-design with economical components so it is a cheaper choice. I wanted to "pimp" this olive colored rod with components i think it deserves; Pocketed end cap with aluminum slide band. Bocote wood soaked and varnished with 8 layers of spar varnish. A ventilated cigar grip, so you can really feel the rod in your hand. Green translucent wrappings. Green agate stone as a stripping guide. It has a fast action and have done well in reviews all over the world.
